Megavalanche + Morzine Combo
One Trip. Two Epic Experiences.

EXCELLENT Based on 61 reviews Posted on CJ B14. July, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can't recommend Trail Hub enough for a mountain bike holiday! Everything was top-notch, from the airport transfers and accommodation to the food and the outstanding hospitality provided by Jamie and Ben. I participated in the Mega Avalanche as a first-timer, and Jamie's advice and guidance were absolutely invaluable. The larger group of riders from Trail Hub was also fantastic, as we had the opportunity to ride and socialize together before and during the event. Overall, I highly recommend Trail Hub for anyone looking for an unforgettable MTB experience.Posted on Ben Deakin14. July, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. July, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. First of all these guys are a 10/10 doing what they do. We had the best time with perfect rooms with full ensuite and a balcony which was perfect for a great view and putting out bikes on a night. Food wise it was exceptional from Ben who knocked it out the park every time. They will cater for any dietary needs you may have but help them out before you arrive and let them know which is what one of our party did and they went above and beyond to feed him with no issues. Breakfast was Continental with plenty of choice and enough to give you a good feed. Let the guys sort your stay head ache free they’re more than Happy to help you get on holiday. Cheers guys loved the full week See you for Mega 2026 🤟Posted on Zarn Kucel8. July, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jamie and the team made the Megavalanche possible for me. Beyond what I could have hoped for. Highly recommend!!!Posted on Ian Greaves7. July, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A perfectly organised holiday from start to finish from TrailHub. Made for bikers by bikers so everything is thought of - wash and repair stations, early meals for race days, advice and organised group rides. My particular plant based diet needs were catered for and had my meat eater friends looking at my dinner in envy. I genuinely couldn’t ask more from a company. Perfection.Posted on Krystian Horodyski7. July, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Trail hub are the best hosts I’ve came across. They look after you well and they’re down to earth. Ben and Jamie made our stay so much pleasant and comfortable. We went for silver package, location was awesome, with a view. Everything we needed for our mtbs on the sun deck. Last day they’ve organised bbq for gold and silver package together. Which was awesome ! They cook really good and have no issue with dietary restrictions. Thanks Jamie & Ben I hope to see you guys in near future 🫡🫶🏻Posted on L Mo7. In July 2024 me and my group from Malaysia had the pleasure of joining on Megavalanche mountain biking race at Alpe D’Huez with Trail Hub, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the start, Jamie was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Specific requirements must be requested in advance or secured via the premium room upgrade. Otherwise, accommodation is allocated where we feel it works best for both the guest and the chalet.
Chalet Namika - Alpe d’ Huez
Chalet Namika is a premium group chalet base in the Les Bergers area of Alpe d’Huez.
The chalet is mountainside with south facing views. Riders can access the lower section of a green flow trail nearby, linking directly to the Rif Nel gondola which leads to the top of the Pic Blanc 1 gondola.
Namika accommodates up to 16 guests across 7 spacious rooms. There is parking for 5 to 6 vehicles next to the chalet and a large decked area with an outdoor hot tub.
Facilities include a secure bike store, massage chair, steam room, and even a private cinema room.
The location is typically quieter, positioned above town, with a 5 to 10 minute walk or short ride to the centre. The exact location can be seen on our chalet map.
Chalet La Foret - Alpe d’ Huez
Premium chalet La Foret is based in the Old town area of Alpe d’Huez and hosts up to 20 guests. The chalet is located just 5 minutes from the town centre or a stones throw to the old town high street.
The easiest access to the trails is either via the Alpe Express gondola which is only 150 metres from the chalet door or directly opposite the garage is the entrance to the red trail called ‘Huez Coast’!
On the middle floor or the chalet you can enjoy the incredible lounge/dining area with an adjoining south facing balcony. Expect uninterrupted views across the valley.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a the bike store and relaxation area, complete with indoor hot tub and sauna.
On street parking is located in directly opposite the chalet.
Less than a minute from the chalet door is the Indiana bar and a great pizza restaurant.
Chalet Montagnes - Morzine
Chalet Montagnes is your base for the Morzine part of the trip, set in a quiet spot a short ride/walk from the village centre, with parking on site.
The chalet has a sunny terrace, outdoor jacuzzi, and a comfortable living area. All meals are served outside on the balcony, with free beer flowing during dinner. Afternoon tea, large breakfasts and fresh 3 course dinners keep energy levels up for back to back days on the hill.
Bikes are stored securely on site with CCTV coverage, and Le Pleney lift is close by for quick access to the trails.

The race organisers of the Megavalanche (UCC) usually announce a release date for tickets in December. You can usually expect event entries to go live around mid January.
Usually tickets for the event do not sell out however, It’s best to book as early as possible to get the early bird price and a better starting position for the qualification race.

Megavalanche doctor’s certificate explained?
To compete in the Megavalanche you need to prove you are fit to do so, this can be done in the form of and signed doctor’s certificate, or if you are from the UK, a valid British Cycling membership is also ok.
There are three ways to do this;
You can download a copy of the certificate here to give to your doctor.
Quite often I’ve experienced doctors do not want to sign this form, if you are short of time you can actually get this form signed by doctors online.
From the organisers side of things, they just need to see a signed document or valid licence.
Can anyone enter the Megavanche?
The technical answer is ‘Yes’ but the real answer is ‘No’. Any rider CAN enter the Megavalanche, even children!
It is possible to enjoy the race at your own pace and navigate the descent slowly whilst taking in the trail. Not everyone in this race is a pro rider.
However you will be descending 2600mts with multiple terrain changes throughout the race. A good level of bike fitness will be needed as well as a competent level of bike skills to make this race enjoyable.
For more information as well as a look at the trails you can watch our Megavalanche trail guide video series here.
The Megavalanche route, what’s it like?
The Megavalanche route is an epic, high-altitude descent that starts at the summit of Pic Blanc (3,300m) and drops all the way down to Allemond, the lowest part of the Alpe d’Huez mountain area. The full route is 22km long, with a massive 2,600m of vertical descent.
The top section of the Megavalanche route tackles steep snow-covered ski pistes and long traverses. As you descend, the terrain shifts into fast, loose, rocky singletrack with optional technical sections (which can be walked if needed).
The mid-section throws in a long traverse and lung-busting uphill sprint, before dropping you into the final stretch. At this point in the route you’re still around halfway. From here on you’re riding flowy woodland trails, tight switchbacks, punchy climbs, and fast flats.
Expect it to take anywhere between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to complete, depending on conditions and your pace.
🎥 Want to see the Megavalanche route in action?
Check out our trail guide video below for an in-depth look at some of the trickier sections:
How many miles is the Megavalanche?
How many miles is the Megavalanche? – It’s just under 14 miles (or 22 kilometres) from start to finish. The trail is an official enduro route with 84 metres of climbing and a few miles of flat traverse sprint sections, so you’ll need more than bike skill and balls to get a solid result.
It’s a seriously epic descent from Pic Blanc at 3,330m all the way down to Allemond, dropping a huge 2,600m in elevation along the way.
Top-level riders can complete the race in around 40 minutes, while most experienced amateurs will finish in 50 minutes to 1 hour 15, depending on conditions, luck and fitness!
Take a look at the race trail here…
How do you qualify for the Megavalanche?
How do I qualify for the Megavalanche main race?
To take part in the main Megavalanche race, you’ll need to finish in the top 35 riders of your qualification wave. But don’t worry, every rider gets a race, even if you don’t qualify for the elite group.
Here’s how it breaks down:
MEGAVALANCHE Group (Sunday): The top 1st to 35th place from each qualification wave. These 350 riders race in the full mass start event from Pic Blanc.
CHALLENGERS Group (Saturday): Riders who place 36th to 70th in their qualification heat.
AMATEURS Group (Sunday): Riders finishing 71st to 94th.
AFFINITY Group (Saturday): For riders finishing 95th to 130th. This is a more relaxed, non-competitive ride with individual starts rather than a mass start.
WOMEN & E-BIKE RIDERS have dedicated races on Saturday morning, giving them their own start times and categories. (Women’s ebike racers ride with male ebikes but scored separately.)
MEGA KIDS RACE: Open to young riders aged 7–16 years old in which they start their race from lower down.
