Let The Good Times Roll!
Trail Hub is all about mountain bike holidays and guiding, making sure your trip is stress-free and dialed from start to finish.
Our crew came together in the Alps after years of working, riding, and meeting new people in the mountains. When Trail Hub first launched as a YouTube channel in 2018, old friends jumped in to see what was going on and it’s been a steady rise & wild ride ever since.
Now, we’re all about bringing the MTB experience we always dreamed of: exploring rad places, connecting with fellow riders, and hitting the trails together.
Thanks for your interest, Hopefully we can catch up on the trails or grab a post-ride beer sometime.
See you out there!
Meet the team
Gordy
Tweed Valley
Gordy leads the way across our Tweed Valley holidays. With an untold amount of time spent in the saddle around the area it’s fair to say he knows his stuff.
Let’s get to know him a bit better…….
Where is home?
Innerleithen, right on the doorstep of the Golfie trails!
Favourite food?
Pizza every day of the week! Thin base, lots of mozzarella, lots of meat, NEVER ANY PINEAPPLE!
What hobbies do you have outside of Mtb?
Dog walking, winter climbing, back country skiing…something for all weather types!
Bike of your dreams?
I’d absolutely love an old school Kona stinky but tweaked with modern geo and 27.5 wheels!
How many years have you ridden bikes?
First started ‘proper’ mountain biking in 1994, exploring the networks of paths and drove roads in the Tweed Valley. Glentress was a very different forest at that point.
What do you do to relax?
Boom or bust with reading – can easily get through a good book in a weekend then not read anything for months.
Love a bit of a Netflix binge, and am partial to an xbox zone out now and again.
Favourite trail/network?
If I had the time and the weather, I’d ride big mountain routes forever. Things like the Torridon circuit, the Ben Macdui descent, or the Lawers traverse are some of the best days on a bike you can have. Proper wild trails in remote settings with amazing views and consequential decision making!
What‘s the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
I’d hire someone whose sole job would be to plan my next holiday. There must be so many amazing places to go in the world that are off the beaten tracking beyond the holiday brochures and reaches of social media.
Charlie
French Alps Tour
Meet Charlie who helps run our French Alps Trips, he makes a mean tartiflette and loves a quirky bottle of french beer!
Let’s get to know him a bit better……
Where is home?
I’m pretty lucky so home for me is in 2 places. I spend winter in La Plagne in the French Alps skiing and then the sumer back in the UK (apart from our Alps Trail Hub trips).
Favourite food?
This is a tough one. Pizza is high on the list but so is a roast!
Also love curry’s and Asian inspired foods, basically all food!
What hobbies do you have outside of Mtb?
I absolutely love snowboarding which is probably my main other hobby. I‘m also obsessed with motorcycles (ask my wife) and if I can get a surf/skimboard in i’m happy too!
Bike of your dreams?
A modern Iron Horse sunday or my wife’s Callibre Bossnut which I spent the 2022 French Alps Tour riding. It was a dream!
How many years have you ridden bikes?
I learnt to ride when I was 3 and have kept it going ever since really.
What do you do to relax?
I’m not sure what that word means? I have 2 kids, a wife and too many hobbies!
Favourite trail/network?
I’m obviously biased but I do really love La Plagne, I also really enjoy Woodstock in Les Arcs!
What‘s the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
A chalet in the Alps with a massive garage. Skiing all winter and riding mtb and motorcycles all summer!
Ben
Megavalanche
Ben is new to Mtb but has been based in the mountains for over 10 years! Lookout for him lining up for the mega for the very first time!
Let’s get to know him a bit better…….
Where is home?
Originally Southampton, tiny town outside of it but now it’s Alpe D’Huez, France!
Favourite food?
I miss a proper roast dinner at me nan’s, not the rubbish at Toby carvery although this is a guilty pleasure!
What hobbies do you have outside of Mtb?
Lots of skiing when i’m not working, karting, ripping down the Smithy’s bar and rebuilding it! – Not going to IKEA!
How many years have you ridden bikes?
I used to ride trails when I was a proper nipper but have only recently got back on 2 wheels since moving to Alpe D’ Huez a few years ago.
What do you do to relax?
Drink a coffee with a kit kat and then get going again!
Favourite Trail/network?
Some might say I’m biased, it has to be Alpe D’huez!
What‘s the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
I would buy a barn and complete a beautiful renovation equipped with a large workshop for my 1969 fastback mustang and cafe racer!
Tommo
Megavalanche

I’m always on the move! But currently on a small farm in East Sussex
Favourite food?
Pizza! and Peanut butter! but not together…
What hobbies do you have outside of Mtb?
Skiing! Road cycling, Motorcycling, working on motorcycles, camping
Bike of your dreams?
Is it allowed to be a motorcycle, ha! Nah, would actually be a handmade road/adventure bike frame made by top man Olly Pack of Tidy bike co. I would work on the geometry and components with my good pal Alex Cook from ACP bike fit for that true bespoke finish. One day…
How many years have you ridden bikes?
I started riding my older sisters bike at 4, then got my neighbours old bike which I rode ’til I got a BMX when I was 11 I think. I then discovered dirt jumps on my BMX which was WAY better than the skate park.
This is when I got my first mountain bike, a gold GT chucker! I was 14. This was also my paper round bike! The GT got made single speed and was turned into a thoroughbred jump bike! I then built up an XC bike from the cheapest frame available in my size from CRC at the time! I rode this a lot and even did a couple of races, in LYCRA!
Consistently ridden road bikes since I was 18 ish! When I was 23 I was living in Australia and demo’d a Trek Remedy at the Cairns mountain bike park. I absolutely loved it and bought one when I got back to the UK just before I turned 24 and this is when I started doing way more mountain biking and a bit less lycra!
So I guess bikes have always been a big part of my life in some capacity!
What do you do to relax?
Camping is my ultimate idea of relaxation. Time outdoors and getting stuck into my camp chair with a coffee, beer or a scotch!
Favourite Trail/network?
Anywhere up around the Scottish borders. Had some of my best days riding at the Golfie. Also have a soft spot for Afan trail centre!
What‘s the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
Some land with a workshop and enough space for a pitbike track and some dirt jumps. An old barn/farm I could work on. Then probably a fleet of pit bikes for friends to be able to ride when they come over. Of course there would need to be plenty of space for camping.
Jack
Tweed Valley
Jack won’t be beaten on a climb and he’s pretty rapid coming down the trails too! Rumour has it he carries an anvil in his bag just to make the climbs even harder!
Let’s get to know him a bit better…….
Where is home?
I’m originally from Fife but moved down to the Valley around three years ago to study coaching and develop sports specifically in mountain biking. I now live in Galashiels
Favorite food?
On a ride I love a jam sandwich, off the bike a nice bacon roll.
What hobbies do you have outside of Mtb?
I enjoy learning about graphic design

What‘s the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
A spacious chalet with big glass frontage over looking the mountains. A good view of hiking and biking trails with a local waterfall! It would be just far enough away from neighbours so you don’t see or hear them, but close enough to invite them over for a BBQ!
